A heartfelt Thank you!
goes out to all of you interested in our most recent, and perhaps final, CD:
"I'll be in Tomorrow"
You might have wondered "What is the idea behind the title?" After
asking some people how they understood it, we realised that the meaning was
not clear. Therefore, a short explanation follows and we'll be on our way.
First of all, you might think the title implies
that you're going to be at a certain place
tomorrow. For example, "I'll be at work tomorrow." But
that's not our meaning. The title was originally an excerpt
from a line of our first song To make a choice.
It is to be understood in the context of
"When I choose
to go this way,
there's
no chance
for me to stay.
I will be
in Tomorrow,
so it’s hard
for me to
tell ..."
The thoughts and decisions suggested in the title are directed
to the future and are not going to be influenced by anything
from the past. It means that from the moment you make a decision there is
nothing which holds you back from achieving the goal because you constantly
strive forward. Our conclusion as Shinrok will be the same: We will strive for
new goals and go in new directions.
... from the moment you make a decision there is nothing which holds you back from achieving
the goal because you constantly strive forward.
Shinrok started in 2001 with Heidi Wakayama, an experienced member of the former
'Go World Brass Band' and mother of two current Shinrokers. She started by setting
up a group of 10 to 13 year old children to prepare some musical performances for a
New Year's celebration. Gospel songs like Kumbaya, my Lord and Oh, when the Saints
were diligently practised and proudly performed. The vision was to bring children
closer to music and to educate them in the practices of giving joy to others.
The name Shinrok came up for the first time in 2003 after Jamany Noguchi, a former
Shinroker, returned from his stay in Korea. It consists of the Chinese characters
'new' and 'green' and signifies the fresh grass in the morning dew - a kind of new beginning,
the start of a new generation with a fresh spirit. Accordingly, we paid particular
attention to the messages in our lyrics that they convey something positive and hopeful
for the future. Yeson Noguchi, a Shinroker until last year, strongly influenced many of
our lyrics and played a big role in the writing of our title
song To Make a Choice.
... our lyrics ... convey something positive and hopeful for the future
At this point, a former Shinroker Simon Hutzfeld should be mentioned. Since the beginning of our
CD productions he has taken care of the layouts and invested a lot of time in the photo shootings
and designs of the CD covers.
Shinrok has become a big family and has been supported and furthered over the
years by numerous
people. Without you, we wouldn't have come this far! You believed in our potential and strongly
supported us - be it simply by buying our CDs.
This is not the definite end of Shinrok, but the beginning of a new phase - another opportunity
for further development and giving talent room for growth. We thank everybody for the time we had
together. As we recollect fond memories, we must remind ourselves to look again to the future ...
We'll be in Tomorrow!!
Enjoy!
